We've put together this full kit with a view to complete usability and quality. The rig adapts to shoulder or tripod use in a matter of seconds. On the shoulder, the pad can be positioned for balance and comfort and the SmallHD monitor allows for accurate focus and framing. Multiple mounting points for the monitor allow operators to adjust to taste and with the neoprene snood it can be used in bright sunlight.

The Nikon Lenses are a good option for jobs where budget won't stretch to PL mount cinema lenses. For documentary style shooting the zoom lenses minimise the number of lens swaps and repo's. They have Focal hard stops and are internal focus so are suitable for use with a Matte box (the 28-70 does extend by 25mm but will still work with MB). These lenses are reasonably fast at f2.8 and provide tack sharp images. The negatives are usability issues, they don't hold focus during zooming and don't have fixed gears for use with follow focus units.

The 16Gb SxS offers 108min recording at 1080 50i in XDCAM EX format. Higher Quality recording can be had through the HDSDI ports to optional off-board recorders such as the AJA Ki-Pro.

Best suited to static shooting locations rather than run 'n gun. Powers from mains or from 12v battery power tap ports.
